Day 7: Venice
We caught the 8:14 fast ferry out of Bellagio. A few rows up there was a man explaining George Clooney’s love for Lake Como, compelling!
Back in Como Andy ordered a “cafe crema” which the waitress explained means coffee ice cream. He kept repeating it so she brought him coffee ice cream.
Finding redemption at McDonald’s. They have a Grand Crispy McBacon that will definitely be ordered on this trip.
Looking around a very old church.
Waiting for Andy outside the church while Jean plays a piano on her phone to figure out the melody of the church bells.
I like the little house up there.
Look at this monster!
Checking out some shops in Como.
Beef ravioli for lunch. Wow it was good!
The expert trim on these trees.
Transferring trains in Milan. The second our train departed for Venice the guy in front of us started vomiting. He left a bag of it in the compartment by the window! Bold!
Arrived in Venice! Bustling!
First of many footbridges.
Looks just like the movies.
Good stickers here.
Google maps took us through here.
Found the airbnb!
Looks old on the outside.
Looks old on the inside.
View of a little square.
Dinner at a bakery. I accidentally ordered pizza with fish on it.
Jean was pretty excited about the name of this wine.
Also the name of beautiful Japanese restaurant in Berea!
Derek has his eye on this.
Haha what?
Walking around after dinner.
These guys were popping off, still are as I write this.
Looking for Aperol.
Found some! Derek tries his first green olive in years. Did not enjoy it but that’s ok! There’s an overwhelming amount to explore here. Looks like rain tomorrow but we’ll figure something out. Thanks for reading my blog!
Ciao!
